Editor. Proofreader. Indexer. Writer.

Accuracy is important. Clarity is important. Whether it's a website or an essay, an article or an advertisement, your words are the channel through which you communicate your value. Errors undermine your credibility: they alienate your readers, distract your clients. What's more, it's almost impossible to catch all of the bugs in your work on your own--and science can tell you why. When we read something we've written ourselves, we already know what we're trying to say; we expect that our ideas will be there, visible and legible to all, which makes it easy for our brains to gloss over what we've actually omitted or flubbed. Don't worry, though: there's no shame in this generalization process. According to psychologist Tom Stoffard, it's a hallmark of higher-level brain function!

But think about it this way: every sentence you publish puts your brand's reputation on the line. We might be likely to miss our own mistakes, but our readers--who are outside of our heads, with outsiders' perspectives--are likely to catch them. Don't give them that chance. Give it to an editor instead.

That's where I come in. You can trust me to polish, to refine, to perfect--to hold your work to the highest standards, and to not let go until I'm sure those standards have been met. We'll work together to ensure that your writing conveys exactly what you mean, so that none of your ideas and intentions get lost in translation. Or, if your project is past the construction phase, I'll go through your sentences with a fine-toothed comb to catch everything that may have slipped your notice.

Your words, my eyes. Let me help you put your best foot forward.
